Exemplary records (Representative or Primary records) represent typical values of an attribute for a taxon, which may have many records for this attribute. Up to five of these records per attribute, per taxon, may be labeled as Representative records; one record, representing the broadest swathe of a species' associates, may also be labeled the Primary record. For instance, a predator feeding on many species of flies, beetles and bees might have a Primary record of "eats Insecta".
taxon summary contains two files:
taxon_summary_resource.txt lists existing records that are tagged in the database as representative or primary records.
taxon_summary.tar.gz is a DarwinCore Archive of newly generated summary records.
parent taxon summary contains two files of the same information for higher taxa, summarized from their descendants
parent_taxon_summary_resource.txt lists existing records that are tagged as exemplary
parent_taxon_summary.tar.gz is a DarwinCore Archive of newly generated exemplary records
